Billing Coordinator - Springfield, MA

SUMMARY

The Billing Coordinator generates claims and invoices from the EHR system, generates client statements, creates and distributes reports, and resolves billing issues. Additionally, this person works on financial variance reports, and financial reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Issues and tracks client billing statements
  • Initiates phone and written communication to resolve outstanding client balances
  • Follows up on client billing issues through resolution
  • Review RAs and track denials on log
  • Communicate with sites to investigate and resolve claim denials and appeals
  • Work closely with the Finance department to resolve claim denials
  • Maintains fee schedules and paysource data in EHR system
  • Generates claims and invoices as needed
  • Distributes billing violation reports to programs as needed
  • Works on claim discrepancies reconciliation for billing
  • Tracks billing variance report submissions by program directors
  • Quarterly, audits fee for service billing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Use and understanding of Welligent Reporting System is a plus

  • Thorough knowledge obtained through completion of a Bachelor's curriculum of an accredited institution or at least three years of billing and administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in third party billing and insurance reimbursements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or at least three years billing and administrative experience. Knowledge in SUD and/or BH billing is required.
